Aloha all,  I have a few questions on what am I doing wrong in setting up my calendar.

1: using calendar as a "to-do" and mark done when finished and hopefully will not appear on the next day cause it is "DONE".  First  the calendar has a title of "Finish date" not To-Do and to-do is not a folder in Ecco.  I have put several items into the Calendar "finish DAte" and I cannot edit the name to "To-Do"
How to rename or correct?

2: Where do I put "Done" to delete the info for future days in the current "to-do" Calendar?   Use the word Done or put a date?
And what folder do I send the old info to?  (Make a "Completed folder")

I have been reading the manual, but got these stumbling blocks.  thanks
Francis

good questions.

Concept 1:

One type of "Folder" is a 'Date' folder.   You can name the folder(s) anything,  but if they are date folders they can do special 'date' stuff.

1. A date folder value with Date and Time shows up in the 'appointments' side of the calendar view (which can be side by side or top/bottom).

2. A date folder (or any specific item assigned) can be set to show up on the 'tickler' side of the calendar view,  OR NOT.

View > Folder Window  (or click on  arrow at bottom left of ecco window)  to open folder pane.

Right click on a folder or Alt + L for folder options.

"Properties" on date folder shows options...

Show in Tickler Section ?

How soon before setting?

How long to 'Care Forward'  after setting.

NOTE HERE IS KEY--->

UNTIL MARKED DONE  will show item until it is marked done!!

... other options also...

NOTE:

Can also use Tools > Filter View

to create (and then have active)

a filter that "Done" has no value...  will hide all 'done' items...

(but not best approach... for most purposes... as hides recurring events even if done only on 1 recurrence...).

note:  neat tool (TaskMaster)  which allows setting a series of steps ... one to start when the prior is marked done..

right click on folder and can  "Merge folder values"  into the folder you desire...

double click on folder & see ALL items assigned .... easy to manually fix in column... (drag folder to add column... easy to update).

--> ctrl + M marked done...  (or right click and check done).

no need to 'send' old info unless you want to.

create 'history' folder  to 'move' items into if desired.
