MagicFilter and Search * Find the intersect points between data in different folders.
* Instantly filter items from the sub-folders of a folder
in a single click.
* Filter based on folder structure and contexts, based on any
of a group of folders being assigned to an item.
........... | For example, Let's say you have a folder "Mall" with sub folders "JC Penny's", "Neiman's", "Polo", "Victoria's Secret", "Old Navy", "Hush Puppies", "Chops", and "Red Dog's". In context filter mode, by checking "Mall" if an item has a value in any of the "Mall" sub folders, the filter will match. Multiple context filters and sub-filters can be used at the same time. |
* Create instant on-the-fly 'ALL' or 'ANY' filters just by checking
the desired folders in the folder outline.
* Create explicit filters. Normal ecco filters apply if an item's
parent matches the filter. MagicFilter filters apply only if an item
explicitly has the designated folder values.
* Freely combine MagicFilters with native ecco filters, and
update the MagicFilter portion 'on-the-fly'.
* Filter based on VIEWED items-- narrow searches to currently
viewed or selected items.
........... | For example, Let's say you have 100 header items (as TLIs in folder or as sub-items of any item) on different subjects. There may be a 'mass' of text under those headers. Two or three headers (and their 'mass' of sub text) may be on certain subjects. If you search for a keyword you'll find the first matching header. If you press Control + N you'll get the next match inside the 'mass' of sub-items you're not looking for-- not so helpful. With a VIEW FILTER you can select (or simply set the view to show the desired item level) and then search only those items currently shown in the view, or only within those items you select. |
*
Append new searches to Phonebook view, adding the matching items to the existing phonebook view, instead of replacing the existing view with the new items.
