Is there a way to move one or more items to a distant point in the same view?

Lets say I have the outline below and would like to move items 2,3 and 5 as
children of item600. Normally I would cut and paste, however, Ecco seems not to
have the cut items stored in a buffer for subsequent pasting. Dragging the items
is slow and tedious because there are many pages of items in between 5 and 600.
So what can I do instead?

use the magicHijack! tool. (this is exactly one of the thing to tool does).

you can mark and then gather. Or thumbtack and throw.

ecco also has split view to make it very, very simple.
